My best friend lives in New Jersey. She had Shake Shack but I had Steak & Shake. So, for years, we had a debate going over which was better to have. Shake Shack's burger is better, but Steak & Shake's milkshakes are out of this world. Shake Shack's a little classier, I suppose. But the deciding factor, for me, always came down to the price. Steak & Shake is far easier on the wallet, so if I had to choose, Steak & Shake gets my vote.
But now I don't have to choose. So, I win. Suck it, New Jersey! (Okay, not exactly true. Kentucky has one Shake Shack and New Jersey now has one Steak & Shake. So, technically, it's still a tie).
Anyway, back to the point. Shake Shack is good. A little overpriced, but good. Definitely worth popping by if you're craving a burger. -

I first encountered this Heaven on Earth burger joint in Las Vegas and again in Chicago, which was unfortunate since I am from KY and wasn't aware there was one near me until LOW AND BEHOLD I found out about the one in Lexington, KY. Now I'm from Louisville so it's about a 3 hr drive round trip, but let me tell you the Double SmokeShack Burger is worth the drive Every. Single. Time. The bun melts in your mouth, the patty is cooked to perfection, the chopped cherry peppers which give a little spicy kick, the perfectly cooked bacon, and OMG the ShackSauce. It all adds up to a flavor explosion and uncontested awesomeness that I have yet to experience at any other "fast food" burger place.
Now, on to the prices. If you consider Shake Shack a fast food place then yes the prices are a bit high, but I think the food is absolutely worth it. I don't mind paying $7 for a burger if it's enjoyable and made well, and these burgers definitely are. I would recommend Shake Shack a millions over. The burger is just that good. -

I was NOT impressed.
It's mediocre fast food at high prices.
I had a cheeseburger, fries, and a small drink. It cost $11.10. There is no kind of combo deal or anything like that so save money. That's a plain cheeseburger, an order of fries, and a drink that at most places would be kid-sized.
The burger was an average fast-food burger in size and quality, roughly comparable to a junior cheeseburger at Wendy's or a single burger at Steak and Shake in size and quality. The only thing that stood out about it at all was the bun was slightly toasted. The menu said a normal cheeseburger was supposed to have lettuce and tomato, but my burger apparently came without those. The burger was also extremely salty, not just a little, but overpoweringly so. It was salty enough to make you really want to drink a lot.
The drink was a small cup, almost entirely full of ice with enough soda in it for maybe one good drink. . .and no free refills. Unlike most burger joints nowadays, they keep the soda fountains behind the counter. See also how salty the burger was.
The fries were normal, routine crinkle-cut fries in a paper tray.
The whole meal felt like something from a concession stand at a ball game or amusement park, and about similar prices and quality.
The place has fancy wooden decor, flashy flat-panel monitor displays promoting items (like a milkshake with bourbon added, which made me think of the "Five Dollar Milkshake" from Pulp Fiction, where John Travolta's character asks if they put bourbon in the milkshake to explain why it costs $5). I know that rent is expensive at The Summit, but the whole thing felt like a seriously overpriced fast food joint.
I was underwhelmed by the quality and it was definitely NOT worth the price I paid. I don't get what the hype is about people saying this place is so great, the food is about the same as at Steak and Shake or Wendy's, but at about a 75% markup from those places (and they at least have free refills on drinks). -

Food is always good and fresh here... always come to one when I can. Can never lose at a Shake Shack.

Since the first time I tried this chain in NYC I'm always motivated to come back and well I knew that during my time in Lexington I needed to stop there.
The surrounding area of this place is just great to spend many hours, it is located near a plaza mall that has a lot of different stores however parking can be a little difficult to find very close because there are a lot of restaurants around.
Now this burger chain is above most chains because their beef quality is better and their fries they have some condiment that makes not the usual side as in any place.
That being said those things affects your price. For a man to be satisfied I believe you will have to spend around 15 dlls which will be a two patty burger with a side of fries (not included with burger price) I had the smoke shack and the bacon was very tasty but I didn't end up full.
Now I think that in the whole area these are the b wt burgers to have!
